You've got to remember to hold the front elements of the lenses together, so the UV filters are rubbing against each other. Open the 50 to 1.8, make sure it is focused to infinity. Also, put your 28-105 to infinity in manual focus. You have to move in and out to get your picture in focus. It's like have having a prime that doesn't focus.

Assuming that you are using the trick you sent me, I tried putting the zoom with the 50mm, but it didn't seem to work.
How did you do it?
